Martha Irene Schafstall Keal, 86, of North Vernon, died at 2:22 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at Jennings Healthcare Center in North Vernon.
Funeral service was held Sunday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Edward Wooddell officiating. Burial was at Baldwin Cemetery in Vernon.
Mrs. Keal retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion, where she was a nurse's aide for several years. Previously, she had worked at the former ITT Industries, Regal Rugs, White Front and Pick's restaurants in North Vernon. She was a member of Christ Baptist Church.
Born July 8, 1921, in Jennings County, she was the daughter of Solomon and Lois A. Walters Losey.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Pearson of North Vernon; three sons, Donald Schafstall of Jacksonville, Fla., William J. Schafstall of Marion and Bobby E. Schafstall of North Vernon; three stepsons, James Bruce of Plataka, Fla., Daniel Keal of Stewart, Fla., and Larry Keal of Tennessee; two brothers, Dale and Paul Losey of North Vernon; 12 grandchildren, Merle, Trevor and Hazel Pearson, Betty Pettit, William, Carol and Carla Schafstall, and Billy, Scotty and Brian Livisay; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leroy Schafstall; her second husband, Kedrick Keal; a stepson, Richard Keal; a sister, Mary Fisher; four brothers, Robert, William, Charles and James Losey; and two grandchildren, Jeremy Schafstall and Lisa Gayle Davidson.
