Funeral services for Master Sgt. Henry S. Preston, III, 86, of Grand Prairie, Texas will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Rev. Jimmy Koonce officiating.

Burial will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 28 and from 8 a.m. until time of service Thursday, Nov. 29 at the funeral home.

Mr. Preston died Monday, November 26, 2007 at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield, Texas.

Mr. Preston graduated from Bolton High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree from LSU in Baton Rouge. He was a retired law enforcement officer with the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office and a 20-year United States Army veteran having served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Alexandria Lodge #398, F&AM and Past Master of the Cenla Shrine Club in Alexandria. He was also a member and past president of the El Karubah Temple Oriental Band in Shreveport. He was a member of Eighth Street Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie Rabalais Preston; parents, Henry Sherman Preston, Jr. and Sybil L. Taylor Preston; and a sister, Rosemary Preston Smith.
