Keith "Doc" Underwood, 68, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Fort Atkinson, WI on April 13, 1953, the son of George and Christeen (Burnes) Underwood.

Survivors include two sisters, Deborah Ritchie of House Springs, MO and Glenda (Mark Seger) Wortley of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sherron Doerhoff.

Doc was a US Air Force veteran. He retired from the Springfield Fire Department. Everything Keith did was about saving lives and was passionate about his job.

Doc was the owner of Hog Gaiters. He loved skiiing, riding motorcycles and was an avid photographer. He was full of life and truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Following the committal service at Camp Butler National Cemetery everyone is invited for continued fellowship at the Firefighters Lake Club, 940 W Lake Shore Dr., Springfield, IL, 62712.
