Waco News Tribune, Tues., 3 Mar 1925, p. 2 - Willaim F. Cauthen, 73, died Mon. morning at 1:45 o'clock at the home of his dau., Mrs. W. C. Behrnger, 1104 S. 15th St., pneumonia being the cause. The body will be taken to Riesel in the Compton motor hearse, the funeral to take place there this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Mr. Cauthen was born in AL & is survived by 3daus. & 6 sons: Mrs. W. C. Behringer & Mrs. E. R. Curb-Waco; Mrs. A. B. Walker-Houston; A. D. Cauthen-Waco; Dow & Lucian Cauthen, both of Houston; E. L. Cauten-Stamford & Eugene Cauthen-Phoenix, Ariz.

William Franklin Cauthen 1st married 28 Nov 1872 in Crenshaw Co., AL - Sarah E Williams. She died ca 1889; they had six children. On 1 Jan 1891 in AL, he married - Magnolia G. Barkley. In the 1900 census they are living in Hill Co., TX and have 4 more children. They eventually have 10 children or William has 16 children by the two wives. The wives' burial has not been located, yet, nor some of the children. Bobbye Varner (2010)
