Richard P. French, age 87, of Copperas Cove and formerly of Woodland, CA, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at home. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, September 20, 2021, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Richard was born on May 8, 1934, in Woodland, CA to the late Clarence and Minnie French. He graduated from Woodland High School in 1952 and was an avid track and field athlete. He joined the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and served proudly for two years. Richard worked for the State of California for over 40 years, retiring from CalTrans in 1995. When he had spare time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He kept up with all sports and was an avid Oakland A's fan. Richard was a member of Life Pointe Church in Woodland, CA.

Richard is survived by his sons, Larry French and wife, Kayce, Donald French and wife, Brenda; daughter, Janet French; sister, Marjorie Corcoran; four grandchildren, Jaemi, Kai, Skylayah, Johanna; five great-grandchildren; and his nieces, Nancy and Brenda. He loved children and enjoyed all the kiddos in the family.
