Lawrence Gruman, "Larry", age 86, of West Bend passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, April 6th, 2019. Lawrence was born in Cavour on April 7, 1932. He graduated from Laona High School in 1949. Lawrence served his country in the U.S. Army. He married Karen Flannery on August 2, 1952. Together, they raised their 5 children in Brookfield. Karen preceded Lawrence in death on April 18th, 1996. Lawrence married Mary Keller on February 14, 1999 and the two spent 20 loving years of life together. Lawrence founded Gruman Construction, Inc. of New Berlin in 1966, where he worked with his four sons until retirement. He had a love for masonry work, as well as building and flipping houses. When not busy running his business, Lawrence devoted his free time to watching the Milwaukee Brewers, golfing, and playing cards. Upon retirement, Lawrence split his time relaxing at his Arizona home in Sun City West and on the lake at his Eagle River cabin. A devoted father and "Papa" to his grandkids, a perfect day was spent up north, challenging his family members in Rummikub or cribbage.
