Mrs. Sue Lassiter Draughn
September 13, 1924 ~ November 25, 2013 (age 89)
Sue Lassiter Draughn, faithful servant to God her Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, and her comforter, the Holy Spirit now stands in the glory of their presence.
She left her loving family and friends on Monday, November 25th and now waits for them to join her. She was affectionately called "Mama Sue" or "Miss Sue" and was best known for her Friday morning breakfasts and the sharing of her wonderfully delicious sour dough bread, her dumplings and her cakes.

She and her late husband, David, loved and ministered to the community of High Point by opening their hearts and doors to their restaurant, High Point Quick Lunch. There they served food, love and the Word of God to all who would partake.

Sue attended Community Bible Church where she served as a greeter for many years. She loved all those who serve on staff and greatly enjoyed her visits, cards and prayers from the friends she made there. She was preceded in death by her husband David Draughn, Sr. parents William H. Lassiter and Maude Geddy Lassiter, brothers and sisters-in-law Lyndon Lassiter and wife Hazel, Haywood Lassiter, Benson Lassiter and wife Annie Lee and Bill Lassiter. Also preceding her in death are sisters and brothers-in-law, Maude Ellis Lassiter, Louise McBride and Ruth McRae and husband Reid.

Now rejoicing in the memories of her life are three children, Suzanne Draughn Hornbuckle and husband Jim of Cherokee, NC, Barbara Draughn Stout and husband Jerry of High Point and John David Draughn, Jr. of Greensboro. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jamie Hornbuckle and wife Krista of Sylva, Jennifer Standingdeer and husband Dean of Cherokee, Julie Chambers and husband Blair of High Point, Jonathan Stout and wife Sarah of Fuquay-Varina, Joshua Draughn and wife Samantha of Charlotte, Christian Draughn of Greenville, NC and great grandchildren Lindsay Hornbuckle Crow and husband Tim of Cherokee, Courtney Hornbuckle of Ashville,, Charleigh Standingdeer and Riley Standingdeer both of Cherokee, Owen Stout of Fuquay-Varina and Ethan Chambers of High Point and one great great grandson Tim Crow, Jr. of Cherokee. She is also survived by sister Blanchette Mitchel and husband Walter of High Point, sisters-in-law Lois Lassiter and Ruth Lassiter both of High Point and countless nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

A special thanks to those who assisted in the care of and who loved "Miss Sue" while at Westchester Manor and Hospice of the Piedmont. May you all be blessed as you blessed her.
