Elton R. "Ike" Heiser, 98, of Morton died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
He was born May 17, 1909, in Morton to Daniel and Phoebe King Heiser. He married Helen C. Rapp on May 28, 1931, in Morton. She preceded him in death on July 7, 1998.
Surviving are one son, Lee (and Roxanne) Heiser of Morton; and one daughter, Myra Cook of Bloomington.
Elton owned and operated Heiser Insurance Agency in Morton for 20 years, retiring in 1974. He also served as the Morton Township Assessor for more than 30 years.
He was a charter member of the Morton Optimist Club and served as secretary of the Morton School Boards for many years.
Burial will be in the Morton Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
