Mrs. Leonore Murphy, who died in this city yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, was the widow of Cornelius H. Murphy, who died in the city a few years ago.
Leonore Hagenbaugh was born in Fairfield, Ohio, March 29, 1848. She married in Chicago on April 2, 1873 to Cornelius H. Murphy.
Mr. and Mrs. Murphy were residents of Chicago for some time, they then moved to St. Paul where Mr. Murphy had a position on the Globe. Ill health brought him and his family to Lake Charles in the hope of prolonging his life. Mr. and Mrs. Murphy and their daughters came to this city in the fall of 1896.
An accident while out carriage riding last November severely injured Mrs. Murphy and she had not fully recovered her health when a stroke of apoplexy came on the morning of Feb 23. This left Mrs. Murphy helpless. The entire right side was paralyzed and the lady was unable to speak at anytime. She was semiconscious part of the time and seemed to know what was going on about her.
The funeral will be conducted tomorrow at the residence on Division street at 2:30 o'clock. Interred at Orange Grove cemetery.
