Shelly R. Myers, 53, of Trimble, IL, passed away on September 8, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born January 9, 1968, in Sullivan, IN, the daughter of James L. & Marilyn (Simmers) Newlin. She grew up in both Flat Rock and Oblong and was a 1986 graduate of Oblong High School. She would go on to work for a number of local businesses, including Fair-Rite, Tempco, Senco Construction, and was currently working hole watch and fire watch for Bay Safety at the time of her passing.

Away from work, our lady luck was known to frequent casinos and Bingo nights, and more often than not, took home quite a bit of cash! Though she enjoyed the thrill of gambling, it couldn't compare with time spent on the beach. Few things brought more life to her living than spending time seaside with her beloved family and friends.

Back home, she found happiness in the little things: a good cup of coffee in the morning, sitting down to watch "The Young and the Restless" or "The Bold and the Beautiful", and blasting music while dancing in the kitchen. But more than any of this, she cherished spending time with her loved ones. They could attest not only to her heart of gold but also to the joy with which she lived her 53 years. She always had a smile on her face and was, by all accounts, full of life. May we use her memory as a guide, remembering to cherish every moment and fill it with happiness, just like she did.

Left behind to remember Shelly is her husband, Louie Myers; her son, Brent W. "BW" Powell; her daughter, Mackenzie Myers; her father, James Newlin; her sister & brother-in-law, Rita & Danny Nethery; her brother & sister-in-law, John & DeEtta Newlin; her sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Jamie & Bill Mills and Valerie & Doug Redfern; her brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Jason & Terri Myers; her beloved "grandpup", Christmas; as well as several extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Newlin.
