Obituary--King City Democrat
Mrs. Ann Eliza Shepherd departed this life May 12, 1894, at the old homestead in Flag Springs, Andrew county, Missouri. She came with her husband, Richard W Shepherd, from Kentucky in 1849. For nearly forty years she was honored and loved by a host of friends.
Her death was sudden but calm and peaceful. She had long been a true follower of Christ, a devoted member of C P church.
Rev. James Froman, of King City, preached upon the theme: "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints."
Four sons and three daughters mourn the departure of a faithful and precious mother. May their lives be as true and Christian as was hers.
