Douglas "Bubba" E. Whitson, Jr., born October 17, 1962 in Shreveport, LA went to be with our Lord, Sunday, August 29th, 2021.
Bubba never met a stranger. He had numerous friends and was always there to lend a helping hand, especially when it involved his passion of fixing and refurbishing cars. He had a God given talent that he applied to his hobby and passion of making something old "new" again. Bubba started at the early age of 15 working at his first salvage yard, learning and training himself to be the best at his job. He had the privilege of working for a variety of salvage yards and shops in the Shreveport, Bossier area throughout his life.
Bubba was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Vernon "Bunny" Aldridge and Louise "NaNa" Aldridge and his uncles, James Aldridge and Vernon Aldridge Jr.
Left to cherish his precious memory are his parents Patricia Aldridge Whitson Hayes and Daniel J. Hayes, Jr. of Shreveport, LA; sister Denise Whitson Danielson and husband Jerry Danielson; brother Daniel J. Hayes, III and his wife Ashley Deville Hayes; niece Danielle Danielson Hawkins and her husband James Hawkins, nieces Abigail Hayes, Emma Hayes and Madeline Vascocu; nephews Chandler Vascocu and Nick Vascocu; great nephew Dakota Hawkins, great niece Aubrey Hawkins; and special friend Kim King. Bubba will be greatly missed by all.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road. Bubba's funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 2:00PM in the chapel at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, with Bro. Darrell Miller Officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.
