He was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard and Robert Beatty; and a sister, Linda Smiach.
Mr. Beatty was a member of Grace Bible Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Germany serving during the Korean conflict. Donald retired as the owner/operator of Beatty's Carpet Cleaners and had previously been employed by Benzel Bretzel Bakery and McMahon's Dairy. Donald enjoyed bowling, playing cards, motorcycles and the San-Tones Orchestra. He also enjoyed dancing with and leading the Horseshoe Seniors and the Golden Nuggets. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021, at Grace Bible Church, Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Pastor Randy Zitterbart officiating. The viewing and funeral service will be held outdoors at the church due to Covid-19 concerns and it is requested social distancing protocols please be followed. Interment will be made at Alto-Reste Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations please be made to Horseshoe Seniors dance club, 309 - 26th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601. A live-stream will be available on the funeral home web-site to view the funeral service for those who are unable to attend in person.
