HOWARD LANE TO BE BURIED HERE
Funeral rites for Howard Lane, 73, who was found Monday shot to death in his store at 118 South Seventy-Seventh Street, were to be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the home, 111 South Seventy-Seventh Street, the Rev. J. C. Stivender in charge. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Brown directing.
A verdict of suicide was returned in the case by Assistant Coroner Burge. Mr. Lane had been a resident of Birmingham 55 years and was owner of the Anchor Supply Company.
Active pallbearers were to be O. S. Wilder, Raymond McPhaul, James M. Jones, Jr., Claud Christie and Lucian Bondurant. Honorary, Charles Allen, B. Mosley, W. J. Ware, Dr. J. C. Morris, J. B. Rodgers, Mat Maddox, F. E. Christie, E. M. Elliott, Will Merriner, Y. L. Senn, H. L. Searcy and Lonsie Able.
Surviving are the widow and two daughters, Mrs. William P. Nicholas and Miss Helen Lane.
