He was born at Jonesboro, Arkansas, was a veteran of World War II and formerly district manager of AMOCO for Alabama. He was the owner of Clardy Oil Co. of Hot Springs and was an Elder at First Presbyterian Church. He was a Justice of the Peace in District Four and a member of the Warren Township American Legion Post 13, the United Commercial Travelers, the 40 & 8 Club local 418. He was an Eagle Scout and Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Hot Springs Downtown Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. June McBride Clardy of Hot Springs; a son, Floyd Clardy III of Fort Smith; two daughters, Judith Clardy McKenzie of Little Rock and Melinda Libertini of Los Angeles; a brother, Dr. E. K. Clardy of Hot Springs; a sister, Mrs. Jack Horner of Hot Springs; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. today in the Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. James A. Beverly officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Caruth Funeral Home.
