Donna E. Alexander, 66, of Marshall, IL passed away 4:30 AM Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021 in the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN. She was a retired registered nurse. Donna was born Jan. 30, 1955 at Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Clifford and Esther McCarty Thompson. She married John E. Alexander Jr. on June 24, 1983 at Marshall, IL and he preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 2001. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Delbert Thompson. Surviving are a son, John Clifford Alexander; four nieces, Erica Sykut, Emily Thompson, Lisa Marie Thompson and Kim Ellshoff; a sister-in-law, Karen Ellshoff and her dog, Izzy. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marshall, St. Mary's Helping Hands and Marshall Main St. She was a graduate of Martinsville High School, attended Indiana State University and was a graduate of the Lakekview School of Nursing. She was employed at Union Hospital for several years and also served as a nurse for Dr. George Mitchell during the last 13 years of his practice.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Marshall.
