Son of John Henry MItchell (1685 - 1755) and Catherine Bates Mitchell (1688 -1755), VA.

Grandson of Abraham MItchell (1658 - 1696) and Mary Knowlton ( xxxx -xxxx).

G Grandson of William Mitchell (1615 -1663) and Joanne Connett Mitchell (1616 -1653),
VA, both born in England.

GG Grandson of John MItchell (1580 -1680) and Annabel Whitley (1579 -1627), England, John died in Hong Kong.

Isaac Mitchell left will in Abbeville, [SC] 1789, naming his wife Mary executrix (maiden name unknown; probably second wife), and Nathan Sims, Robert Pollard, Richard Pollard, and son Isaac (minor) executors. Daughters Ursula, Catherine, Mary, and Sarah (married Whitlow), "other sons," and "all my children" are mentioned in will.

Existing estate papers name other children William, Daniel, James, John (got family Bible), Martha (married Hill), and possibly Elisha. Old Isaac's widow Mary married John Satterwhite. Some of the Mitchell family moved to Laurens, [SC]and Mary Satterwhite left will in Laurens, 1824.

WILL OF ISAAC MITCHELL In the Name of God Amen -I Isaac Mitchell of the State of South Carolina & County of Abbeville being not in perfect health of body but of perfect mind and memory & calling to mind the mortality of my body & knowing there is a time for all men once to die do make ordain and constitute this my last will and testament, that is to say first I recommend my soul to God that gave it & my body to the earth to be buried at the discreation of my Executors hereinafter named. And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with I do give and dispose of it in manner and form following.

After discharging all just debts I leave the plantation wherein I now live with three hundred acres of land beginning at the lower line& runing it off in a square to my son Isaac, my wife to have her life on the plantation. The rest of my lands to be equally divided among all my other sons excepting the land on the East side of Charles Allens spring branch including the spring which I have to the said Allen as far- as my rights will allow & whereas I have given to my daughter that is married.

Unto my daughter Ursula one Negro wench, unto my daughter Catherine one wench & child, unto my daughter Mary one wench & to my daughter Sarah one wench which is my will they should keep.

And unto the rest of my children I leave one Negro each & the rest of my Negroes I lend unto my wife during her life or widowhood & at here decease or inter-marriage, to be equally divided among all my children.

The rest of my estate I lend unto my wife during her life or widowhood and after her decease or intermarriage to be divided among all my children after deducting the value of what each married child has received excepting the Negroes.

And lastly I do hereby ordain and constitute my.loving wife Mary Executrix and my friend Nathan Sims, Robert Pollard, Richard Pollard & my son Isaac when he comes of age my Executor to this my last will and testament, revoking and abolishing all other of older dates.

In witness hereof I have set my hand and seal this Twenty Ninth day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Nine. [6/10/1789]
