Graveside services for Mr. Pat O'Neal Hughes, age 60, of Princeton, LA, will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the Plain Dealing Cemetery, Plain Dealing, LA, with Bro. Darwin Hunter and Bro. Jonathan Long officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Mr. Hughes was born on November 28, 1960 to Garland and Iris Hughes in Atlanta, TX and passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 in Princeton, LA. Mr. Hughes was an avid athlete and enjoyed all sports. He not only played sports but coached several teams and was a referee. He was a part of the intramural Diamond Dog championship team. He also held a championship in badminton. Pat enjoyed time with his family and friends. His friends gave him the nickname, "Cadillac." Pat was a loving father to his girls. He was their car maintenance man, lawn care, and all around handy man. There wasn't a bigger Texas Longhorn fan than Pat Hughes. Mr. Hughes was a beloved son, brother, and dad. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his father, Garland Hughes; mother, Iris Hughes; sister, Pam Bayuk and husband Jim of Miller Grove, TX; four brothers, Kevin Hughes and wife Melissa of Fort Smith, AR, Devin Hughes and wife Dana of Sarepta, LA, Randy Hughes and wife Tina of Sarepta, LA, Brad Hughes of Irving, TX; the mother of his children, Lori Hughes of Sarepta, LA; and two daughters, Jessica Hughes of Bossier City, LA, and Taylor Hughes of Sarepta, LA.
Pallbearers will be his brothers Kevin Hughes, Devin Hughes, Randy Hughes and Brad Hughes. Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff at Exco.
