Kimberly James
September 17, 1957 - September 02, 2021
Rutherfordton, North Carolina - Kimberly Roy James, age 63, of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, died in her beloved home September 2, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Dolphus Gerard Roy and Phyllis Keeping Smith Roy Bugden.

Kim was born on an Air Force base in Delaware and lived in Europe during her early years as an Air Force brat, speaking French and English as a tot. She later spent her teen and early adult years in West Springfield, Massachusetts, marrying and having four children. When she had enough of the cold Northeast winters, she headed west to Arizona for warmth. After a year of that inferno, she moved back east where she settled for the rest of her life in North Carolina to raise her children and look after countless rescue dogs, cats and her children's friends.

Kim was an entrepreneur, she loved being her own boss so she could balance providing for and being home with her children. She started a bookkeeping business, which she later sold to franchise a billiard league. After growing that franchise to one of the largest in the country, she sold it to retire to her custom dream home in Rutherfordton, North Carolina where she planned to live out the rest of her days in the quiet mountain countryside, spending hours on her tractor mowing her many acres with the love of her life, Andrew James. They loved to take scuba diving vacations together and raised more beloved pets, including Newfoundland dogs as part of her proud Newfoundland heritage. She also cared for even more rescue pets which seem to just show up knowing her kind heart would welcome them always, including her cherished 200lb Spanish Mastiff, Hondo.

After she lost Andy tragically to lung cancer, she turned back to work and started her own billiard league, 8 Ball Express, which she was incredibly proud of. After a linger illness, she eventually turned over operations to her trusted friend, Tina Foster. She lived the rest of her days in her idyllic country home, spending time with her grandbabies and traveling the world with her family (Rome, London, Paris, Caribbean, etc) until she no longer could, gradually succumbing to her illness.

She leaves behind her children Scott Rossmeisl [Teresa Fernandes], Brian Rossmeisl [Cynthia Spice], Dawn Reid [Paul Reid, son of Darlene Thomas Reid] and Dominque Yedro as well as her cherished grandchildren - Ashton Reid, Angelique Freeman, Katherine Reid, Gavin Rossmeisl and Lucas Rossmeisl. She also leaves behind her adored pets Ginger, Willow and Black Jack.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Kim's honor to any animal rescue organization, including the ASPCA....
