Virginia (Burr) Farrell, (98) born in Bellingham, Massachusetts on July 31,1923 to parents Harold Chilson Burr and Olive (Briggs) Burr. She resided on the family's farm in Bellingham, MA with her three siblings, Rosamond (Burr) Staples, Harold (Johnny) Burr and Howard Burr.

Virginia was married to the late Joseph F. Farrell, and was a resident of Narragansett (Sand Hill Cove), Rhode Island since 1963 where she raised their six children; Margaret (Farrell) Skuce, Kathleen Farrell, Patrick Farrell, Virginia (Farrell) Bolano and Jeffrey Farrell. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren (Lisa, Kevin, Robin, Jack, Joe, Frank, Kristen, Katherine, Shawn, Matt, Ryan, Meghan, Nathan and Ethan) and at least as many great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Francis Farrell. She found great pleasure being with her grandchildren and teaching them to bake, sew, garden and fish.

Virginia received her Bachelor's Degree from Framingham State University and spent the majority of her teaching career as a Home Economics Teacher at South Kingstown High School before retiring in 1987.

Virginia loved living across from the Sand Hill Cove Beach and all that it entailed; from the waves crashing on the shore to the hums of the fishing and lobster boats motoring out early in the morning and returning late in the day as the sun began its descent beyond the Galilee breakwall.
Virginia was a very strong and determined woman. She sometimes referred to herself as a "tough old bird". She was also kind and caring and loved to laugh and enjoy life with her family, friends and pets.
Virginia enjoyed many hobbies throughout the years; from gardening, baking, quilting, fishing, bowling, playing cards, caring for her farm animals and pets, and doing her crossword puzzles; and of course, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy every night!
Virginia wished to remain in her home and with the support and teamwork of some determined

family members and her long term compassionate caregivers; Manal, Dawn, Andy and recently Sheila and Hospice South providers, her wish was granted!

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 10:30 am in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Rd., Narragansett. Burial will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, 5-7 pm, in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., South Kingstown.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Southern RI, P.O. Box 458, Wakefield, RI 02880.
