Harold "Bill" L. Hinshaw, 83, of Kellogg, died of a heart attack Tuesday morning, September 17, 1996 at Skiff Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton. The Rev. Robert L. Hinshaw, pastor of the Ashton Chapel, will conduct services. Burial will be in Our Silent Cemetery in Kellogg.
Friends may call at the funeral home today and visitation with the family will be tonight from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials to the Kellogg Historical Society will be accepted.
Mr. Hinshaw was born December 18, 1912 in Kellogg, the son of Irvin L. "Ted" and Izora L. Benson Hinshaw. He attended Kellogg High School.
He was married to Sara Jeanne Auten January 2, 1935, in Laurel.
Mr. Hinshaw lived most of his life in Jasper County and spent the past several years in Brownsville, Texas.
He worked as a tool and die maker at Midwest Manufacturing in Kellogg and later worked at the Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois. He also worked at Dye-O-Matic in Montezuma.
He was a member of the Methodist Church in Kellogg, the National Campers Hikers Association and the Modern Woodman Lodge.
Survivors are his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, William L. and Rose of Marion; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy L. and Al Cooper of Kellogg; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mike, who died in 1991; a grandson, Donald Hinshaw; four sisters and one brother.
