Alfred "Fritz" "Cotton" Wieberg, age 93, of Westphalia, died Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Heisinger Lutheran Home, Jefferson City, Missouri.

Alfred, one of 15 children, was born August 18, 1928, in Argyle, Mo., to Frank and Katherine (Hoeller) Wieberg.

He was united in marriage on April 23, 1949, in Westphalia, Missouri, to Mildred Temmen. She preceded him in death on April 23, 2016, the date of their 67th Wedding Anniversary.

Alfred worked for many years at Tweedies Shoe Factory, McGraw Edison (later named Shopsmith), in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Survivors include six children, Tom (Clara) Wieberg, Taos; Dan (Julie) Wieberg, Jefferson City; Randy Wieberg, Arlene (Sam) Samson, Darlene (Jim) Massman, and Sue (Leon) Lauberth, Westphalia; nineteen grandchildren; forty-nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Maria Cox, Newton, Iowa; sister-in-laws, Sarah Ann Wieberg, Springfield, IL; Alice Markway, Westphalia; Margie Temmen and Theresa Temmen, Folk; brother-in-law, Bill Temmen, Westphalia; one daughter-in-law, Sue Wieberg, Westphalia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Marty Wieberg; eight sisters, Catherine Wieberg, Cecilia Loethen, Christine Groner, Caroline Herigon, Leona Loethen, Laurentia Hammock, Emma Meisel, and Lidwina Brochman; and five brothers, Aloysius Wieberg, Frank Wieberg, Robert Wieberg, Cornelius Wieberg and Marcellus Wieberg.

Visitation will be Thursday, 8:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am with the Rev. Anthony J. Viviano officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church, P.O. Box 116, Westphalia, MO 65085.
