Rebecca Ann Peshoff Thompson, 86, of Sulphur, LA passed away peacefully on August 28, 2021. Becky or BeckyDear (as she was more commonly and affectionately known) was born on February 28, 1935, raised in Carlyss, Louisiana, and graduated Sulphur High School Class of 1953. She married Bill Thompson on March 31, 1955, together they raised both of their children Shannah and David and built their life in Sulphur.

Becky was a lifelong member of Henning Memorial United Methodist Church; serving in many ways… as the office bookkeeper, a position she held for many years, as well as various other committees she volunteered her time for. In her later years you would find her diligently working at the Mustard Seed where she served as Leader of the Mustard Seed Ladies. She would spend her days inspiring others with her gift of sewing, quilting, crocheting, and embroidery. She worked on several mission projects with the ladies, and built many lifelong friendships, all through her ability to change lives with just some fabric and thread.

When Becky was not at the church, you would often find her at her home, with a door that was always open for anyone to stop by for a cup of coffee, dessert, or to stay awhile and play a game. The Thompson home was always the happening place if you wanted to play cards, dominos, or work on a puzzle. She was known for hosting many weekly gatherings that would start with a meal, often including her 'oh so famous hot rolls' and ended with a rousing round of dominos.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Peshoff, her mother Mary Segrest Peshoff, her brother Robert Peshoff, her husband Bill Thompson. Orba (Everett) and William Thompson her mother and father-in-law, Raymond Thompson her brother-in-law and Jay Isaac her brother-in-law.

She is survived by her sisters Ruth Peshoff Isaac, Faye Peshoff Kyson (Bob), Opal Peshoff Umpierre (Frank). Her sisters-in-law Janet Pollard Peshoff, Lollie Thompson and Barbara Thompson Fontanella (Abe). Her daughter Shannah O'Neill (Jim) and granddaughters Hannah Breaux Kimich (David), Anna Breaux, Breanna Breaux (Steven Smith), Maureen O'Neill Taylor (Alex), and Katy O'Neill (Adam). Great granddaughters Abigail and Kennedy Kimich. Her Son David Thompson and granddaughters Ashleigh Thompson Poole (Kyle), Telsa Thompson, and Kassidy Thompson. Her grandson Matthieu Thompson (Hannah) and grandchildren Harlowe and Gavin Poole and Dexter and Jensen Thomspon.

Becky was an emotional and spiritual leader for her family, a leader in her community, and a friend to anyone she came across. She has always been someone to look to for advice, someone to look up to, and someone that gave much more than she took. Becky will be greatly missed, and forever ingrained in our hearts, along with all the lessons she shared with each and everyone of us.
