Ruth Marie Cookendorfer, age 73), of Falmouth, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Saint Elizabeth Healthcare, in Edgewood, Kentucky. She was born in Falmouth on September 12, 1947, a daughter of the late Melvin "Bud" and Ruth Alene Pugh Allender. Ruth was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She worked at Community Action for NorthKey Community Care. Other places she worked throughout the community include Stop and Tell Restaurant, Lakeside and the Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by: her husband, Terry Cookendorfer; two sons, Michael Allender and Robert Hamilton; a brother, Stanley Allender; and a sister, Vicky Call. Survivors include: three children, Shawn Richie, Pam Hunley and Laura Richter; two sisters, Linda (the late Duke) Yoakum and Wanda (the late Marion) Zumwalt; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 2, at Peoples Funeral Home, in Falmouth. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Ruth's final resting place will be at Lenoxburg Cemetery.
