Helmut Betz 84, of Conklin, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday August 1, 2016. He is predeceased by his parents Martha and Christian. He is survived his loving wife of 60 years Margret; Son Ed and his wife Diana; daughter Linda Bowker and husband Bill; cherished grandchildren Peter, Christine, Zachary, Matthew and Alexis. Helmut's fun-loving and wonderful sense of humor was appreciated by many. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and his wife's best friend. He enjoyed fishing with his family and the beauty of the great outdoors. Many happy memories were made on family vacations. Helmut and his wife traveled many miles throughout their years together attending various running events. He was a lifelong member of the German Club. Friends may call on Saturday from 10am until 12pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA Funeral Home Inc. 137 Robinson St. Binghamton, NY 13904.
