Patricia A. (Phillips) Abbott, 85, of Delphi, IN, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 12:40 PM at Mulberry Health & Retirement Home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 29, 1936 in Delphi, IN to the late John and Evaleen (Kauffman) Phillips. Her marriage was to Coy R. "Dick" Abbott at the Delphi Christian Church on July 26, 1959 and he preceded her in death on March 29, 2001.

Patricia was a 1954 graduate of Delphi High School and received her degree in Business Administration from the Indiana Business College. She had worked at the former McCain Jewelry Store and the Delphi Telephone Company, then worked in the cafeteria at the Delphi Community High School. Patricia then worked at Shreve Hall at Purdue University in the post office for several years, retiring in 1999, and at the Stonehouse Restaurant in Delphi. She was also a homemaker.

Patricia was a member of the Delphi Christian Church. She was an avid reader and loved to pass on helpful hints she would come across and other good words and phrases to live by. She and her husband enjoyed traveling back to Somerset, KY, to visit relatives and keep up on genealogy. Patricia was always doing for others and was concerned for those in need, how she could help out. She was devoted to her husband and family and loved them dearly. Patricia enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and catching up on what was going on in their lives.

Surviving are three children; two sister-in-laws; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Patricia was preceded in death by a daughter, Jayne A. Abbott; two brothers, Lloyd and Rickey Phillips; five half sisters; and one half-brother.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM at Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi. Funeral service will be on Thursday at 1PM with her son and daughter officiating their mother's service. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery in Delphi.
