ZELMER RAY BLAKLEY, 75 of 3223 West Lake Drive died Tuesday at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart. He was a native of Talbotts, TN and came to Fort Pierce from Detroit, MI 30 years ago. Mr Blakley was an iron worker for many years with Local No. 125 and retired as superintendnt for H&R Robertson Steel Co. working for the state of Michigan. He was a member of the Oleander Church of God and was an avid fisherman.
Survivers include his wife Ida Blakley of Fort Pierce; two sons, Ronals John Blakley of New york, NY and Zelmer Blakley, Jr. of Dryden, MI; a stepson, Ralph St. Lawrence of Fort Pierce; a daughter Zelma Faye Patterson of Metamore, MI; three brothers, Jess Blakley of Rock Springs, TN,
Omer Blakley of Kingsport, TN and John Blakley of Fairfield, CA; two sisters, Etta Varner of Lenior City, TN and Iva Jae Ashley of Burrville, TN; six grandchildern and eight great-grandchildren.
