Ronnie was born in Waco, Texas, and was the son of the late Otis Baker Smith and Dovie Lorene Smith. Ronnie was very proud of his name and would often introduce himself as "a full Smith" because his momma was a Smith and she married a Smith. Ronnie learned auto mechanic work as a young man and quickly made his way into management. He retired as a shop supervisor/diesel mechanic with Ryder Truck Rental. Ronnie was a native of Southern California and was saved by the Lord Jesus on 11-4-1991. He moved to Seneca in September 2019. He immediately became an active and faithful member of Redeemer Bible Church of Seneca, SC.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Maxine Smith of 55 years; sons, Ronnie Wayne Smith Jr. (Dawn) of Seneca; Vance Allen Smith of Eatonville, Washington, Troy Lee Smith (Diane) of Seneca; daughter, Tiffany Marie Soto (David) of Seneca; sisters, Hazel Lorene Perciful of Temple, Texas and Imogene Lazelle Jackson of Buda, Texas; sixteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie is preceded in death by brothers, Otis Eugene Smith and twin brother, Monnie Dwayne Smith.
