Funeral services for Charles David Barnett, 87, West Plains, Missouri, will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2021, at the Midway Pentecostal Church, Thayer, Missouri, with Brother David Horton, Brother Frank Rogers, Brother Bobby Ryan, Brother Kelsey Villines, Brother Ronny Wheeler, and Brother Judd Ingram, officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

He was born the son of the late Walter Barnett and Georgia Pentecost Barnett, on July 23, 1934 in Salem, Arkansas and died August 24, 2021 in West Plains, Missouri.

He was united in marriage November 29, 1952 in Salem, Arkansas to Mary Etta Morrison.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Etta Morrison Barnett, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; two children, Marybeth Wheeler and husband Ronny, Mountain view, Missouri, and David Barnett and wife Pattie, Centerville, Indiana; three sisters, Ina Goddard and husband Don, Clever, Missouri, Minnie Waite, Overland Park, Kansas, and Norma Ruth Shirk and husband Harry, Springfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Thad Wheeler and wife Melanie, Summersville, Missouri, Rana Klueg and husband Solomon, Oak Harbor, Washington, and Lynsey Isaacs and husband Jeremy, Centerville, Indiana; five great grandchildren, Ruger Wheeler and Remington Wheeler, both of Summersville, Missouri, Jameson Klueg, Oak Harbor, Washington, and McKensey Isaacs and Charlotte Isaacs, Centerville, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Charles "Chuck" Barnett; one grandson, Marvin Barnett; three brothers, Fred Ball, Glen Ball, and James Barnett; three sisters, Pearl Perkins, Edna Williams, and Ruby Idleman, and two twin sisters, Alice and Alma.

From 1957 to 1959 he served our country as a medic in the United States Army. Charles was called to preach in the spring of 1955. He traveled many miles over the next sixty-six years to preach the gospel and help others. During his ministry, he pastored the following churches, The "Y" of Gainesville, Missouri; Brandsville Pentecostal Mission of Brandsville, Missouri; Hilltop Holiness Church of Willow Springs, Missouri; Midway Pentecostal Church of Thayer, Missouri; Field Creek at Mammoth Springs, Arkansas; Lola Pentecostal Church of Lola, Kentucky, and Pentecostal Tabernacle of Richmond, Indiana.The past few years found him traveling to Poplar Bluff, Missouri to teach Sunday school and help start a new work with Brother Bobby Ryan.

He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. Time and space limit our telling all his good attributes, but, most of all, he was a Christian.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, Missouri.

Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
