Walter Pinklin Barnett was born on March 17, 1900, in Fulton, Arkansas, his father, Joseph James Barnett, was 25 and his mother, Nancy Elizabeth (Johnson)Barnett, was 27.He never cared for his middle name, it was givin to him by the midwife who helped deliver him (I think is what my mother told me) named for a neighbor, Pinklin Albright. He married Georgia Ava Pentecost on April 2, 1927, in Thayer,Howell, Missouri. They had eight children in 15 years.He was a farmer & deacon of the General Baptist Church.He had undergone "major surgery " for a gun shot wound by a 22 rifle the shot entered the middle of his back and went thru the abdomen, penitrating his right kidney,and liver. He was hunting with a firend and by all acounts was a tragic accident ( the friend was pastor of the church he was deacon at). He died on August 12, 1953 at 10:20p.m., in Christa Hogan Hospital West Plains,Howell, Missouri, at the age of 53. (written by grand daughter, Coleen)
