He was born on June 30, 1935, in Huasabas, Sonora Mexico to Jesus and Ramona Salazar. He was one of nine children.
At the age of 18 in hopes of better opportunities he left his hometown and ventured to California by means of the Bracero Program. He traveled throughout the state and eventually settled in Yuba City where he married and had four children. He worked mostly as an agricultural laborer and a certified forest firefighter before retiring.
He loved his family dearly, there was nothing more important to him He always made the time to be present at every event. He treasured the many trips he made back to his hometown.
He enjoyed playing guitar, gold panning at the Yuba River in Dobbins, working on cars, gardening, and telling his life stories to all who would listen.
Our father was an honest, kind, loving man with a heart of gold. He never complained, was always thankful and never lost his faith in GOD, even in the most difficult of times.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Margarita O. Salazar. His children Martina Copeland (Darrin), Analicia Salazar-Villarruel (Luis), Francisco Salazar Jr. (Amy), Miguel A. Salazar Sr. (Mari), 29 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, his sister Mercedes Salazar and numerous nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the countless people who prayed, shared their kindness and support to our father in his time of most need.
