Norma J. Eklund
MAY 4, 1947 - AUGUST 19, 2021

On the morning of August 19th, 2021, Norma Jean Dudgeon Eklund of Frewsburg passed into the arms of her Savior at the age of 74 at UPMC Chautauqua. Norma is preceded in death by her mother, Sally Nash, and her father Paul Dudgeon, and stepfather, Lindy Nash.

Norma was born on May 4th, 1947 and attended Frewsburg Central School with the class of 1965.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jerry Eklund, and her four children, Richard Eklund (Suzan Blanchard), Dennis Eklund, Scott Eklund (Michelle) of Frewsburg, Brett Eklund (Nicole) of Arizona and her five grandchildren, Hannah Rowan (Caleb), Michaela Eklund, Samantha Eklund, Jared Eklund, and Enzo Eklund; her brother, Bruce (Julie) Dudgeon of Bemus Point and her sister, Sandra (late husband, Walter) Donovan of Florida.

Norma and her husband Jerry were high school sweethearts and were married in July of 1964. While raising her 4 beloved boys, they made time to build C&R Construction where Norma was office manager, secretary, and treasurer.

She was a member of Siloam Fellowship, Frewsburg Lion's Club, and was a long-time organizer of the Salvation Army Red Kettle.

Norma Eklund was a strong, caring, and persuasive woman, as evidence for her being the only woman holding together a household of 5 opinionated and hard-headed men. Her positivity and love will ripple beyond borders and generations for years as her family and friends continue to spread her light.

Norma lived her life with Jesus in her heart and continued to spread the good news that He is our Savior. When we walk with God, it may not make things easy, but it makes them possible. Norma knew she could do all things through Christ who gave her strength.

"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Psalm 73:26

Anyone who knew Norma was blessed abundantly.

The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, (Aug. 22, 2021) at Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.

A celebration of Norma's life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, (Aug. 23, 2021) at Zion Lutheran Church, Frewsburg.
