d/o William Walker and Deborah, whose birth name was also McCulloch. Nancy (Walker) McCulloch and her husband Joseph were early settlers of western Missouri, coming to Clay County from Caswell Co NC about 1824. Joseph died, or a least disappeared from the records of the family, not long after they moved to adjoining Clinton County in 1836. Joseph and Nancy signed a deed, 25 April 1839, so he was alive at that point. Nancy raised her family of eleven children alone and died in Clinton Co MO after a long life.
