Nancy (Walker) McCulloch and her husband Joseph were early settlers of western Missouri, coming to Clay County from Caswell Co NC about 1824. Joseph died, or a least disappeared from the records of the family, not long after they moved to adjoining Clinton County in 1836. Joseph and Nancy signed a deed, 25 April 1839, so he was alive at that point. Nancy raised her family of eleven children alone and died in Clinton Co MO after a long life.
