She was born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas, attending high school both there and in Fayetteville, AR. In 1945 she met James 'Jimmy' Sterling Boyd at the University of Arkansas and they were married in 1946. They established a consulting engineering firm in Shreveport and Slidell, LA, where they lived until moving to Florida in 1970. She moved and settled in MA in 1992 to help raise grandchildren.
She is survived by her brother, Fred W. Hunt, of Little Rock, AR; sister, Charleen Green of Palm City, FL; daughters, Judy (Tim) McElwain of Fernandina Beach, FL, and Sherri (Eric) Boyd Amundson of Gainesville, FL; sons J. Roark (Barbara) Boyd of Merlin, OR, Brett (Christine) Hunt Boyd of St. Augustine, FL and Saudi Arabia, and J. Wesley (Theonia) Boyd of Needham, MA; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death in 1972 by her beloved husband, Jimmy. Her parents and three of her sisters also preceded her.
The family greatly appreciated the services of VNA Hospice and Home Staff.
A service was held at Congregational Church of Needham on May 15th starting 7 PM.
