CAROL ABSHER CLEVINGER, 81 years of age of Pounding Mill, VA, formerly of Abingdon, VA, and Buchanan County, went to be with the Lord, Friday, August 13, 2021 at her home following an extended illness.
Born in Tazewell County, she was the daughter of the late Doc and Lela (Newberry) Absher.
She was a longtime resident of Buchanan County and served and was baptized at the Big Rock Church of Christ in the 60s and later served at Little Prater Church of Christ. Her husband, Burton, preached at the Blackey Church of Christ, the Hurley Church of Christ and later moved in 1995 to Abingdon, VA, and served the Lord with the people at Macedonia Church of Christ. Carol worked at the fairway for 15-years as cashier until she retired and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Burton Clevinger and Brother: Bobby Absher.
Those left to cherish her memory include 1-Daughter: Debbie (Michael) Webb of Pounding Mill, VA; 1-Son: Dwane Clevinger (special friend Mary) of Shallotte, NC; 1-Grandson: Jared (Alyssia) Clevinger of Bristol, VA; 1-Great-Grandson: Mason Dwane Clevinger of Bristol, VA.
