She was born April 18, 1939, in Moody Run, W.Va., the youngest child of the late Lawrence A. and Emma Hawley Floyd Sr.
Mrs. Kotchman was a 1958 graduate of Barrackville High School.
Martha was Baptist by faith and knew Jesus.
She was an auxiliary member of Bentleyville American Legion Post #165.
Martha was a loving mother and homemaker. She loved to talk and never knew a stranger. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, country music and dancing.
Surviving are two children, Cathy Derrow (Dave) of Charleroi and Larry Kotchman (Renae) of Coal Center; sister-in-law Carol Floyd of Barrackville, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Michael Derrow, Trevor and Jacob Kotchman; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kotchman was the last of her immediate family. Country roads, take her home.
Deceased are her husband, Michael Kotchman, who died January 11, 1993; a son, Carl Kotchman, who died July 1, 2000; five brothers, William, Dall, Harry, Lawrence A. Jr. and Bernard Floyd; two sisters, Virginia Mae Hester and Alice Talkington.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 22, in the United Christian Church, 499 E. Malden Drive, Coal Center, PA 15423, with Pastor Amory Merriman officiating.
Arrangements are by Greenlee's Bentleyville Funeral Home.
