Mrs. Priscilla (Bartol) Turner, 85 years of Swampscott, died on Thursday, August 12, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family. She is the wife of Allen V. Turner. She was born in Marblehead, the daughter of the late Doris (Felch) Bartol. She was raised in Marblehead and Swampscott and was a graduate of Swampscott High School. She has lived in Swampscott most of her life.
Mrs. Turner worked for the Railroad, but her avocation was as a foster mom. She and her husband were foster parents to over 40 children, adopting three of the children. She also was involved with the Broadway Methodist Church which is now Grace Church. She sang in the church choir and was involved with the Rainbow Girls. Priscilla had a passion for knitting, crocheting and crafting. Her greatest joy was creating special gifts for her beloved family and friends.
In addition to her husband, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage, she leaves her children, David Turner, Debra Walsh and her husband David, Steven Turner and his wife Teri, Wendy Thomas and her husband Tim, Cynthia Vickers and her husband Andrew, Melissa Turner and Brian "B.J. Turner, her grandchildren, Sean and Keith Walsh, Nicholas Turner, Christine Gangi, Derek Anderson, Kaci Turner, Alexandria Thomas and her great grandchildren, Caleb, Adalyn and Devyni. She is the mother of the late Robert A. and James R. Turner.
In accordance with family wishes graveside services will be private. You may make memorial contributions to Care Dimensions Hospice, 75 Sylvan Street, Suite B 102 Danvers, MA 01923.
