Mr. Calvin Owen Boyd, age 83, of Fairdale, returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 with his family by his side. Calvin was born in Louisville, KY on May 15, 1938 to the late Edgar and Louise Boyd, he was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Church and the Louisville Racing Pigeon Club. He was employed at Fawcett Printing Company and later retired from CSX Transportation. Among those who preceded him in death are, his grandson, Matthew Owen Boyd and his brother, Charlie Boyd. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife , children, grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, sister-in-law, and a host of other dear family and friends. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at St. Teresa of Calcutta Church (903 Fairdale Rd., Fairdale) with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Friday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) and on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service at St. Teresa of Calcutta Church. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the DeSales High School Matthew Boyd '13 Memorial Scholarship Fund.
