Rev. John Grenzebach was the son of Jakob and Martha (Manns) Grenzebch. Anna Martha (Van Slyke) Grenzebach was his 1st wife. They were married in 1855. Anna died in 1864. Augusta (Eckert) Grenzebach was his 2nd wife. They were married in 1866. Augusta died October 23, 1894. Rev. Grenzebach was a minister in the New York Conference of the Evangelical Association Church.

1927, Page 9Johannes "John" Grenzebach was born 1824 in Niederaula, Hessen, Germany. He was the 3rd child born to Jakob Grenzebach and Martha Manns. He immigrated to America aboard the ship Hudson in 1845 and returned to Germany in 1847. After a year in Germany John returned to America with his brother Valentine and sister Maria in 1848 aboard the ship Lesmonn. He spent about 7 years farming in East Zorra Township, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada. He then emigrated to New York State in 1855, where he began preaching in the Evangelical Church. He ministered in several locations in New York State. John was married twice. His first wife was Martha Van Slyke and they had 5 children. After Martha's death in 1864, John married Augusta Ecke in 1865 and they had 3 children. John died in 1910 and Augusta died in 1894. They are buried in Blossom Cemetery, West Seneca, Erie County, New York.
