Carol Sampson, age 89, passed away peacefully November 21, 2007 at the Barton Creek Assisted Living Center in Bountiful, Utah with her daughters at her side. She was born Dec. 13, 1917 in Hurricane, Washington Co., Utah, the first of four children of Hyrum and Hortense Spendlove Bradshaw. She attended Dixie College, receiving a Degree in English, moved to Las Vegas to find a job where she met the love of her life, Arden James Sampson of Delta, Utah.

They were married in the St. George LDS Temple Jan. 28, 1939 and stayed in Las Vegas where they raised 9 children and helped build the Lord's Kingdom starting with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) Las Vegas 1st and 2nd Wards. Their life long dream to serve a mission was cut short while serving a mission in Toronto Canada, where her husband of 46 years passed away in Feb. 1985. Carol returned to Las Vegas and continued serving a number of genealogy/service missions at the LDS Family History Centers and the LDS Temple. In 1994, Carol moved to Bountiful Utah to be closer to more family where she lived some 6 years in the Val Verda 3rd Ward, and 5 years in the Barton Creek Branch. Mom was a talented artist, loved music, a tireless journal keeper, and avid genealogist, but her greatest talent was being an exceptional mother, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by her nine children, Allen (Marcia), Las Vegas, NV; Larry (Nancy), Whippany, NJ; Carmen, Las Vegas, NV; Tonna (Dennis), Layton, UT; Audrey (Lavelle), Richland, WA; Ilean (Doug), South Jordan, UT; Marlene (Greg), Spokane, WA; Ellen (Joseph), Bountiful, UT; and Mark (Denise), Dallas, TX; 51 grand-children; and 71 great-grand-children; her brothers, Floyd (Ada), Kearns, UT; Lyndon (Emma), Hurricane, UT; and sister, Lila (Paul), Troy, ID; who are all grateful for her legacy of teaching and example in their lives. Arden and Carol's motto was "no empty chairs" in heaven. Pleasant journey, Mom. We'll miss you. Save a place for us.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, Nov. 30th, at 1:00 p.m. in the Val Verda Ward Building, 2651 S 500 W, in Bountiful, UT. Friends and family may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main, in Bountiful, and 11:45-12:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral.
Interment will be at the Hurricane, UT Cemetery on Saturday, December 1, 1:00 p.m. next to her Eternal Companion, Arden.
