Ellis Lee Rice, 80, Buried Monday
Memorial services for Ellis Let Rice, 80, were held Monday afternoon in Watts Memorial Chapel under the direction of Rev. Edwin Walker. He died Saturday at his home Madill. He had lived here nearly 30 years.
He was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama, August 25,1880, and moved to Oklahoma in 1923, moving first to Pauls Valley, then two years later to Madill. In 1931 he moved to a farm near Madill where he spent the remainder of his life.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and had been a Methodist for many year. He had been in ill health for seven years, and had been seriously ill for the past month.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maud Rice, Madill, four daughters, Mrs. Ruby Griffin, Madill, Mrs. George Dickerson and Mrs. Lee Payne, Ardmore, and Mrs. Nadine Goff, Pauls Valley, four sons, Eugene Rice and T. H. Rice, Madill, Bruner Rice, Ardmore, Turner Rice, Perryton, Tex., nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Woodberry-Forrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bruce Bigger, Dorris Bruster, Alford Jacks, '"e Jacks, John Reid, Shorty Gaylor, A. D. Oiler, and Earl Ragsdale.
