Annette Marie Henson, 58, of Springfield, died on the morning of August 14, 2021, at the White Hall Nursing Center. Annette was born on January 22, 1963, in Springfield, the daughter of Melvin and Constantina (Merano) Henson. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Annette was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in social work, and she worked on the Child Abuse Hotline for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

Annette was a kind and generous person who enjoyed making others happy. She enjoyed spending time with children, especially her many nieces and nephews. Annette had a beautiful voice and loved music, singing in the glee club at Sacred Heart Academy; she also sang in various church choirs in the area, including Christ the King Church.

Annette is survived by three siblings: Victor (Gail) Henson of Jacksonville, Tracey (Nick) Skokna of Hinsdale, and Eric (Kate) Henson of Boulder, CO. She is also survived by sixteen nieces and nephews and two great nieces.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Christ the King Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield, with The Very Rev. Christopher A. House officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
