Edward Lee Akins, 91, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Tennova Healthcare.
After he retired from Brown Stove Works, he coached Little League Baseball, enjoyed fishing, gardening and loved his family. Edward was a "Gentle Soul".
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruner Akins and Nola Pickens Akins; daughters, Deborah Akins and Robyn Blankenship; brothers, Mason (Mutt) Akins and Kenneth Akins; sister, Genevieve Clabo.
Survived by his son, David (Libby) "Randy" Akins; daughter, Renee (Ken) Ramsey; siblings, Thurman Akins, Gary Akins and Maggie Crabtree; grandchildren, Julie ( Paul) Conrad, Ryan Adams, Tyler (Ashley) Adams, Stacey (Stacy) Dill, Greg Dill, Amber (Travis) Torbett and Heather Cox; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, please give a donation to St. Jude's Hospital.
A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2020.
