BURLINGTON — A former
Burlington resident, Edward G.
Seyller, 80; of Geneva, passed,
away suddenly Saturday evening
at the home of his son,
Maurice Seyller, in Hampshire,
where he had been visiting for
two weeks.
He was born in Burlington
July 19, 1880, the son of Ignatius
and Katharine Seyller. On July
22, 1902, he married Effie Engel,
who preceded him in death. Mr.
Seyller was engaged in farming
in the Burlington area until 1918,
when he entered the employment
of the late Herman Pfingsten
until 1926. He then had the
Chevrolet agency in Burlington
until 1936, when he moved to
Geneva, where he was employed
by the Geneva Cab Company until
the time of his death.
He was a member of the Modern
Woodmen of America Camp
471, Burlington.
He is survived by his wife,
Grace Domanus Seyller, whom he
married in 1936; three daughters,
Mrs. John (Joyce) Schock of
Elgin, Mrs. Walter (Merle) Knief
of Burlington and Mrs. John
(Mildred) Logan of Chicago; one
son, Maurice of Hampshire; three
stepchildren, Mrs. Florence Johnson
of Geneva, George Domanus
of St.. Charles and Arnold Domanus
of Franklin Park; a sister,
Mrs. Rose Engel of Peoria
Heights; a brother, Nels of Kewanee;
10 grandchildren; seven
stepgrandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
His first wife died in 1934 and
he was also preceded in death by
two sons three daughters, three
sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were conducted
Wednesday at 2 p.m. from
the Fredrick funeral home in
Hampshire, Rev; L. L. Huff, pastor
of the Evangelical United
Brethren Church officiating; Burial
was in Burlington Union cemetery.
