Rosa Lee Ballard, 93, of the 900 block of Duce St., died Nov. 18, 2007, in her home. She was born in Suffolk and was the widow of William R. Ballard. Mrs. Ballard was a member of Noble Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth, where she was a member of the Sunday school, senior missionary ministry and Wednesday noon day prayer service. She was also a Tent. Survivors include her son, Richard E. Ballard (Ruby) of Suffolk; a sister, Sarah Whitehead of Chesapeake; a brother, Theodore Bracey of Montgomery, Ala.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Noble Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Henry P. Jones. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, is in charge. Viewing will be in the church where the body will be taken at 10 a.m. Saturday.
