Marcus Wells, age 59, of Fayette, died Friday, August 6, at University Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 10, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette. Visitation is scheduled to take place from 5 until 7p.m. on Monday, August 9 at the funeral time. Interment will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.

He is survived by his wife Janet Wells of Fayette; one son and daughter, Zach Dooley and his wife Laura Dooley of St. Louis, and Caitlin Wells and husband Josef McCloud of Salisbury; five brothers, Fred Craig and his wife Jane Craig of Fayette, Del Wells and his wife Brenda Wells, Rocheport, Dewey and Wendy Wills of Columbia, Winston and his wife Radonna Wells of Columbia and Dakota and Mackenzie Wells of Fayette; one sister, Cheyenne and brother-in-law Andy Cook of Fayette; mother-in-law, Marge Dooley of Salisbury; and two grandchild, Aurelia and Felix.

Memorials can be made to Fayette American Legion Post 273.

Marc Wells, 59, of Fayette, MO passed away August 6, 2021, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, after a short battle with cancer. Marcus Ray Wells was born December 18, 1961 in Hannibal, MO, a son to the late Dewey C. and Ruth (Turnbough) Wells, Sr. Marc graduated from Fayette High School with the class of 1980. On September 9, 1989, Marc married Janet Dooley in Salisbury, MO. Together, they've enjoyed nearly 32 years of marriage. Marc worked several jobs throughout his career, primarily working as a truck driver in the agriculture industry. There wasn't a thing Marc couldn't fix or didn't know how to do. He was a skilled carpenter and an able mechanic. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Marc was a huge Kansas City Chiefs and St Louis Cardinals fan. He also loved dancing and spending time with his grandchildren. Marc was a member of Fayette American Legion Post 273 and currently serving on the Fayette City Council. Survivors include his wife, Janet Wells, of the home; son, Zach (Laura) Dooley of St. Louis, MO; daughter, Caitlin (Josef McCloud) Wells of Salisbury, MO; two grandchildren, Aurelia and Felix; six siblings, Fred (Jane) Craig of Fayette, Del (Brenda) Wells of Rocheport, Dewey (Wendy) Wells, Jr. of Columbia, MO, Winston (Radonna) Wells of Columbia, MO, Dakota (Mackenzie) Wells of Fayette and Cheyenne (Andy) Cook of Fayette; and mother-in-law, Marge Dooley of Salisbury. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Marc was preceded in death by a nephew, Jonas Craig and his father-in-law, Melvard Dooley. Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Monday, August 9, 2021 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette. Funeral for Mr. Wells will be 10 AM, Tuesday, August 10 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Jackman officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville following the service.
