Daughter of Caleb Galpin and Elizabeth McLean, wife of Ambrose L. Cox, the son of Isaac Cox and Anna Shadbolt, whom she married on February 25, 1844 in Berlin, Connecticut, and mother of Thomas P. Cox.

Marriage - Cox, Ambrose, of Scottsville, New York, married Sarah G. Galpin, of Berlin, February 26, 1844 by W.W. Woodworth.

In 1850, Sarah Cox, aged 37, was living in Caledonia, Livingston, New York, with her husband, Ambrose Cox, aged 31, a farmer, and children, Lewis Cox, aged 7, Thomas Cox, aged 5, Hannah Cox, aged 6, and Naomah Pomeroy, aged 18.

In 1865, Sarah G. Cox, aged 48, was living in Caledonia, Livinston, New York, with her husband, Ambrose Cox, aged 45, and son, Thomas B. Cox, aged 20.

In 1870, Sarah G. Cox, aged 50, born in Connecticut, was living in Topeka, Kansas, with her husband, Ambrose Cox, aged 51, born in New York, and son, Thomas Cox, aged 23, born in New York. Her husband was shown to be a farmer.

Obituary - Mrs. Sarah Cox, wife of Ambrose Cox, died at her home on Elm Street Friday morning, April 12. The funeral services will be held at the Third Presbyterian Church, on the corner of Third and Hancock Streets, at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Friends of the family are cordially invited.
