Mrs. Virginia Hickman, 1213 East Cook street, resident of Schuyler county most of her life, died at 3:40. a. m. yesterday at St. John's hospital. She had observed her eighty-ninth birthday anniversary Aug, 24. Mrs. Hickman had made her home in Springfield for the last several years with a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Phillips, 1213 East Cook street. She was born Aug. 24, 1851, in Blair county, Pennsylvania, and went to LaGrange, Ill., with her parents when she was 2 years old. She resided in Rushville for many years. She was a member of George W. Reed circle No. 74, Ladies of the G.A.R. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Phillips, Mrs. Belle Connor, Los Angeles, Cal., and Mrs. Adra Murphy, Chicago; eighteen grand-children; twelve great-grandchilIren; one great-great-grandchild. Remains were removed to the Ellinger and Kunz funeral home.
