Funeral services for Andrew Jackson Wickard, 79, prominent farmer of Carroll county, were conducted from the residence in Carrollton township at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon with the Rev. J.; B. Glick, pastor of the Lucerne United Brethren church in charge. Burial was made in the Maple Lawn cemetery in Flora.

Mr. Wickard, father of Secretary of Agriculture Claude R. Wickard died Thursday following a long. illness at his home on his 383 acne farm. He died on the same farm where he was born on Sept. 24, 1864. His father, Andrew Jackson Wickard, purchased the Carroll county land in 1855. Mr. and Mrs. Wickard, the former Ivy Kirkpatrick, observed their fifty first wedding anniversary this year.

Survivors include the son. Claude R. Wickard; a sister, Mrs. Mary Musselman of Delphi, and two grandchildren, Mrs. Betty Bryant and Mrs. Ann Louise Packard.
