Anne Crichton Seawell Robinson, age 68, a beloved pillar of her family and of the Pine Bluff community, passed away on July 29, 2021. She loved life and brought joy to all who knew her with her smile, warm embraces and hearty laugh that would brighten the day of everyone around her. She will be dearly missed.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 25, 1952, Anne was the daughter of the late Brig. Gen. William Thomas Seawell and Judith Alexander Seawell. Anne spent her first years in Fontainebleau, France and Windsor, England, where her father's military assignments led the family. She spent her childhood in Washington, D.C. and then Colorado Springs, Colorado, where her father was commandant of cadets at the United States Air Force Academy. Anne attended the Nightingale-Bamford School in New York City and graduated from the Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland. She studied at the University of Virginia as part of the first class of women admitted and went on to work as a flight attendant with American Airlines based in Dallas, Texas. Her father's role as Chief of Pan American Airways enabled Anne to travel the globe with her parents in the early years of commercial air travel; she especially treasured their two trips to China and a trip to Greece in the early 1970s.

On March 30, 1974, Anne married Adam B. Robinson, Jr. in St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in New York City. They moved to Pine Bluff where they made their home and raised their two sons. They enjoyed forty-five years of marriage together, including countless twirls on the dance floor, until his death in 2019. Anne uplifted others with her generous friendship, strength and constant readiness to celebrate others. After her sons were grown, Anne co-ran her own business for over a decade ensuring other women were outfitted in clothes as stylish as she was.

Always seeking to enrich the lives of others, Anne was a dedicated supporter of the Arts and Science Center for Southeast Arkansas and was awarded the Catherine Bellamy Award in 2010 for outstanding volunteer service. She also was awarded the Ella Hunn Payne Award in 2012 from the Junior League of Pine Bluff for her volunteer impact in the community. She was a long-time member of the Sesame Club and the Hawthorne Book Club in Pine Bluff (of which her great-grandmother, Henrietta Temple Gwathmey Fox, was a founding member). She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder.

Survivors include her two sons, Adam Scott Robinson of Pine Bluff and his wife, Amber Leigh Robinson, and William Seawell Robinson and his wife, Christina Anne Kilby of Crozet, Virginia; her beloved grandchildren, Beverly Anne Robinson, Clementine Kilby Robinson, Thomas Kilby Robinson, and Harrison Lee Poss; and her brother, Alexander Brooke Seawell of Menlo Park, California and his wife, Rosemary Seawell.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend John Landis officiating. The church is requiring everyone, regardless of vaccination status, to wear masks at the service. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors, and masks will be required at the visitation as well.

Memorials may be made to the Robinson Endowment Fund at the Arts and Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 S. Main Street, Pine Bluff, AR 71601 or First Presbyterian Church, 717 West 32nd Avenue, Pine Bluff, AR 71603.

For anyone who is uncomfortable coming to an inside event because of COVID-19, Anne's service will be webcast live and recorded for later viewing on the funeral home's website.
